Colorful traditions, lush vegetation, vibrant villages and ancient holy sites and temples greet you every step of the way from Colombo to Kandy, and beyond. Sri Lanka boasts the world’s most noted elephant sanctuary in Pinnawela, and the diverse Yala National Park, bursting from exciting flora and fauna. As fascinating as it is spiritual, Sri Lanka just doesn't disappoint.

Day 1

Arrive in Colombo

Arrive in Colombo, and transfer to the beach town of Negombo. Check into your hotel. Airport transfer available upon your request.

Day 2

Pinnawela and Sigiriya

Transfer from Negombo to Pinnawela in the morning. En route visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, which is one of Sri Lanka's most popular tourist attractions. The orphanage's population has now mushroomed to around 65, making it the world’s largest collection of captive elephants. The elephants here range in age from newborns to elderly matriarchs and include orphaned and abandoned elephants, as well as those injured in the wild. Later, transfer to Sigiriya and climb the 5th century Rock fortress once there. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 3

Dambulla and Kandy

After breakfast, drive to Dambulla and visit the Cave Temple once there. The Dambulla Cave Temple contains an abundance of valuable material from the very earliest times till the late 18th century and shows the evolution of the Singhalese Buddhist art. Such vast material in one place, combined with a long history, is a rare find anywhere. Later drive to Kandy. The rest of the day free.

Day 4


Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Peradeniya University campus and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper Lake Drive. Kandy is also famous for its shopping, gems and jewelry, handicrafts, batiks and silks. In the afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city lies about 480 m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. In the evening, visit the Temple of the tooth and then visit a Kandyan Dance performance and be treated to a spectacular fire-walking finale.

Day 5

Nuwara Eliya

Takeoff to Nuwara Eliya to enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Nuwara Eliya meaning "the city of dawn" is the town at the highest elevation (about 2000 m above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Piduruthalagala could be seen from here. The city established by the British in the nineteenth century, and known as "Little England" is a popular holiday resort for Sri Lankans and tourists due to its cool climate and quaint colonial feel with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of the tea country and you can visit a plantation and a factory en route here and witness how the famous "Ceylon Tea" is brewed. Return to the hotel afterwards and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6


Transfer to Yala National Park for a Jeep Safari. Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s most known National Park where you can see elephant, leopards, bears, crocodiles and wild boars. Claims have subsequently been made that Yala National Park has the world’s highest concentration of leopards per square kilometer. Vegetation is primarily grassland and shrub jungle with patches of dense growth while several salt and fresh water lagoons are a haven for a large variety of resident and migrant birds. Areas popular with leopards are rock-strewn hillocks with a dense shrub in which the animals hide.

Beruwala or Bentota

Transfer from Yala to Beruwala or Bentota.
 Check in at hotel. The rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8


Transfer from Galle to Colombo. Afternoon city tour of Colombo which is the largest city and former administrative capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo is busy and vibrant with a mixture of modern life and remnants of a bygone colonial era. The city is also home to a majority of the Sri Lanka’s corporate offices, restaurants and entertainment venues. On this tour, you will visit many of the historical, religious and commercial sites of Colombo including the historic and bustling Fort and Pettah, the elite residential Cinnamon Gardens, the Galle face Green and Viharamahadevi Park.

Depart form Colombo

Service Levels

Accommodation in simple guesthouses or hotels when away from developed travel areas, or trekking off the beaten track.

Accommodation in local 3-4* hotels suitable for the destination. All hotel categories are set by the local standards. Please note that in some countries the hotel standards do not coincide with those on an international level.

Accommodation in international chain hotels, upmarket lodges or local 4-5* hotels. All hotel categories are set by the local standards. Please note that in some countries the hotel standards do not coincide with those on an international level.

Physical Activity

1 (Easy) - These tours are suitable for everyone and include a decent amount of walking.

2 (Medium) - These tours are suitable for everyone and include day hikes on various terrain, which are normally not mandatory.

3 (Hard) - These tours are suitable for people with an average fitness level and include day hikes and treks to various places, which are a mandatory part of the program.

4 (Very hard) -These tours are suitable for people with an intermediate level of fitness and include challenging treks on various terrain.

5 (Extreme) - These tours are suitable for people who are looking for some serious challenges. Have a good look at the program and do some research before committing to one of these tours.

None of the tours on include international flights to/from the destination, travel insurance (mandatory), visas if necessary, gratuities to local staff, personal expenses, optional activities or airport transfers (if not stated otherwise).

Tour Cost and Group Size

The final cost of the tour is determined 45 days before departure when the group is automatically closed. Until that point, in case of vacancies, it is possible to join the group and, therefore, lower the cost for everyone.

The maximum group size is always noted in the pricing scheme on the tour page. Please note that all of our tours are guaranteed from two travelers.

Our pricing scheme applies to private groups as well and no extra charge is applicable. The maximum group size, however, stays the same as stated in the pricing scheme.

Travel Documents

Please make sure that all of your travel documents are up to date and valid before departure.

Note that in some cases, a passport has to be valid up to 6 months after departing the destination. Be sure to check visa and other travel regulations from your local government offices well in advance.

In case of high altitude trekking, please consult your doctor before making a booking. It is important to us and in regards to everyone’s safety that every group member is fit to take on the challenge.

In some cases, is allowed to require a doctor’s note from the client that states their ability to take part in a tour with high physical activity level.


It is advisable to check the weather forecast of your destination a few days prior to departure.


Our and our local partners’ goal is to make everything go without any problems. However, sometimes the odds may not be in our favor and something may happen.

In case of problems on the road, please notify your tour guide first. It is important to give the local provider a chance to make things right.
