This trek is designed for all those interested in hiking. Daily distances are short and contain plenty of rest breaks. We, however, still recommend preparing for the trek with regular walks and exercise.
Summers in Cappadocia are usually hot and dry, and winters cold, but sunny. The daily temperatures fluctuate quite a bit after sunrise and sunset.

Visa and permit information
Please note that obtaining a visa and other valid travel documents, is entirely up to you. Please check with your embassy or Foreign Office well in advance to get the latest facts about your visa requirements. Please make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 (six) months after the trip.

Hiking Permits are purchased on your behalf and are included in the tour price. For this, it is important for you to upload a copy of your passport to your account’s information page. If this is not possible, you are always welcome to send the copy in PDF or image (JPG) format to travel@faralong.com.

Check that the primary vaccinations are valid during the trip. Everyone traveling to Turkey is recommended to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A. Be sure to consult your doctor before your departure.

Having a valid travel insurance is mandatory on all of our trips. Please make sure to get a travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and trip related problems.

Equipment
Your bigger luggage will stay at the hotel and you will only need to carry a small daypack on the trek. Make sure to take a bag that will fit your water bottle, sunscreen, camera, wallet and other smaller personal items that you might need on the way. The temperature in Cappadocia drops at nightfall so it might be a good idea to take something warmer with you as well.

Language
Turkey's official language is Turkish. The Kurdish language is also spoken in the eastern parts of Turkey. English is widely spoken in most of the tourist areas.

Money
Turkish currency is the Turkish lira (TRL). Also, euros may be accepted in some places in bigger cities. You can exchange money on the spot or withdraw money from an ATM. Most major credit cards are widely accepted in larger cities.
It is customary to leave a tip of 10-15% of the total bill in a restaurant. It is also polite to tip the guides and drivers after the trip, the amount should be around €5 per day.

Meals in Cappadocia do not include beverages so be sure to have money for those. For any other meals not included in the package, € 10-20 per day should be sufficient.
